Rotary Youth Exchange Report- September 2003

Et af Sara månedlige mails til hendes hjemklub.

hey everyone!
this is going by way to fast....i can't believe it, i'll be home in like 3 months!!! anyway, i was going to talk about this but i thought i'd let you know that a terrible tradgdy has happened......collingwood lost the grand final for the 2nd time in a row....i was shattered when i found out, but i'm glad i'm so far away so no one can anoy me about it now!

the first weekend of the month it was my host dads mum's birthday so the whole family piled into the car and we went to to legoland, because i'd been there before and had been on most of the rides, i stuck to the rollercoasters this time and i think it helped having my older host brother and sisters there as they wanted to hang around the rollercoasters too! so that was another exhausting day, yet lots of fun!
As some of you know i've started handball over here, i have a really good team and they're all really nice but i'm moving host families this weekend and it's on the other side of town 15km away so it's might be a bit hard for me to keep going, but i'll see how it goes and let you know!
on the 19th, my councellor and his wife birte, took me to copenhagen for the weekend to show me the sights, even though i went there with mum and dad, there was a bit more detail put into this one and we went everywhere, the problem is i can't remember the names of any of the places we went to but they were all very interesting! so we were in copenhagen for 3 nights and we stayed at my councellors daughters apartment and went to and from there plce each day!
adn this weekend just been, a girl in my class had her 17th party at her house, it was only little...but we all dressed up as hippies, ate pizza and watched movies, so that was fun. and then the next morning me and my friend rochelle we're going to go to Århus, as a few exchange students were meeting up there to watch the afl grand final, but rochelle decided she didn't want to go as it wasn't the 'real game' (she's from sydney and follow's the rugby) so she rang me to say she wasn 't going and we talked for a while until i realised i was getting messages from home which had to be about the football so i got off the phone from rochelle....hoping for some good news when dad told me we'd been beaten by 8 goals! so wasn't very impressed about that, but i got over it!
that afternoon i did some baking with my little host sister katrine, we made rolls and pølserhorn, which is sausage wrapped in and sweet doe and cooked, you can try it when i get back and then that night we had a class party, 2 girls from my class had a joint 18th, so we went there for dinner and then went to the local night club, buddy holly, it was soo much fun, my class are awesome when they socialise together. and so that was a late night!
and yesterday, because it was my last weekend with my 2nd host family i cooked an australian dinner for my family and my host mum's parents! meat pie and pavlova, and it tasted fantastic, so i was told....and yeah....it's been a fun and busy month!
School's the same (really boring) i've started up language school again now and because to fill your time in class i usually read books, i've started on the harry potter books, i'm on the 4th one in 3 weeks, they are so good! i recommend them to anyone, they're great books! and yeah that's about it!
as i said i'm moving host families this weekend, i keep looking around my bedroom and i'm trying to work out how i'm going to fit everything i own into 1 suitcase, it's amazing the things you can collect while you're here, but anyway i wanted to give you all my new address if any of you are at all interested in writing to me (which i know the majority of you aren't)
